Mould on Exterior Walls
Mould on exterior walls is common enough around Brisbane homes that I have built my house washing process around removing it without damaging paint.
Likely cause
Moisture, shade and built-up dirt give mould and mildew something to hold onto. Bayside conditions can make regular exterior washing more important.
What to avoid
Do not attack painted walls with high pressure. It can strip paint, mark render and force water into places it should not go.
Straight bleach or harsh DIY mixes can also create problems around paint, gardens and fittings.
When to call me
If mould is spread across painted walls, eaves, render or weatherboard, soft washing is usually the safer professional approach.
