How Often Should You Wash Your House in Brisbane?
The question I get asked more than any other, after 25 years doing this around Wynnum, Manly and Tingalpa: "how often do I actually need this done?" The honest answer depends on where you are and what your house is made of, but here's the rule of thumb I give most people.
Once a year for most homes
Brisbane's humidity and summer storms mean dust, salt and mould can build up faster than people expect. A soft wash every 12 months is a sensible starting point for many homes. Right near the bay in places like Wynnum or Manly, some homes may need attention sooner.
What happens if you leave it
Skip it for a few years and you'll start seeing black streaks, green mould, and paint that's gone chalky. At that point the job takes longer and costs more than it would have if you'd kept on top of it.
Time it before the wet season
I generally recommend booking between August and October, right before the rain really sets in ā see the best time of year to wash your house for the full picture.
Quick tell: if exterior surfaces are showing green streaks when it rains, the house is probably overdue for a wash.
