Brisbane House Washing Checklist – Get Your Home Ready the Right Way
If you've got a wash booked in — anywhere from Wynnum through Cleveland, Tingalpa and Carindale — a bit of prep on your end makes the job faster and the result better. After 25 years doing this, here's what actually helps.
Clear the area
Move cars, outdoor furniture and pot plants back from the walls and windows. Gives me full access to every surface and keeps your stuff well clear of overspray. If you've got pets, best to keep them inside until I'm done.
Shut things up
Make sure windows are closed and any outdoor power points are covered. I'm careful around these regardless, but it's one less thing to worry about — especially in Wynnum and Manly, where the sea breeze already carries a fine salt mist most days.
Pick the right day
Our humidity means timing genuinely affects the result — see the best time of year to wash your house if you're not locked into a date yet.
Leave the rest to me
Once I'm set up, that's my end of the job — low-pressure soft washing that lifts dirt, mould and dust without touching your paintwork. Most people are surprised how much brighter the place looks once it's dry.
One last one: get it done before the wet season properly sets in, and mould won't get the head start it usually does.
